The Beginning of Those Hendys…

Do you ever get home from a long day, and just want to do something mindless?

That looks different for every person. My husband, Evan, LOVES watching tv or playing video games. Personally? I love looking up new marketing trends and designing random things! I honestly never realized that wasn’t exactly “normal” until I married Evan.

Looking back to one month ago, I remember sitting with Evan and processing this whole “business” thing with him…

You see, I love what I do. So much so, that I can’t help but talk about it all the time! I genuinely ENJOY doing marketing and design and working with people. That’s why it never crossed my mind to take what I love doing within my work hours to actually help people I know in my free-time.

I was terrified. I think I was afraid of failing, honestly. I didn’t want to disappoint people, and definitely didn’t want to be overwhelmed. However, so many people kept asking me to help them with their businesses. Randomly during this whole COVID-19 season, I had at least 5 people reach out to me asking me to help them with website design and digital marketing. I was honestly thrilled to help! Not because I wanted extra money, but simply because I care about people and love helping communicate their vision to the world.

So when I sat there, debating on actually doing this thing seriously… it scared me. Could I actually take what I know to help people? Do people actually have a need for these things, but maybe can’t pay a huge company when they’re just a start-up themselves? Well, a big fat YES came out of Evan’s mouth. That’s when I knew.

I’ve always done things on the side, and I absolutely LOVE working with different people (especially remotely). I just didn’t realize that God might have created me to do this until I actually stepped out and started doing it myself. So here goes a journey to doing what I love… this is where Those Hendys begins.
